Magic

While the majority of conflicts are resolved with sword and might, powerful magic flows through the untamed lands and skilled users can use it to their benefit.

Magic and spells have huge role in Age of Fear's world. Skilled magicians can literally burn their enemies with mighty Fireballs, and a master necromancer can raise an army of Undead in blink of an eye.

The magic users have to study magic for a long time and they are generally weak in melee combat. Unfortunately that is the price of mastering the great powers. There are four main domains of magic:

  • The Divine Magic can be only performed by human priests and monks. Their holy power can be used to heal wounded soldiers or bless their weapons. The truly holy men can even resurrect fallen warriors! The divine magic is a natural enemy of all evil powers and even the most stubborn ghosts and demons will be eventually exorcised by a skilled priest.
  • Wizardy is the most versatile of all domains of magic. The magician will train to master all of four nature's elements. Water will allow him to effectively cleanse all traces of other magic, and Fire will allow him to burn his enemies, while Earth will shield him and his allies from opponents. Air is the hardest elemental to master, but the prize is the mastery of time and space!
  • Necromancy is the art of death and destruction. The mastery over life and death allows a necromancer to sustain his life much longer than adepts of other domains of magic. The successful necromancer will gain control over the souls of his enemies and raise them as Undead warriors. Over foul rituals, a necromancer can even transform himself into the dreadful Lich - the ultimate nemesis of all the living beings!
  • The Spritual Magic is domain of Shamans. While the Greenskins' Horde rely more on brutal strength than magic, the Shamans are important leaders in their society. Shamans are closer to the spiritual world than anyone else, and sometimes they can borrow powers of the spirits to curse the enemy or summon small creatures. Their rigorous training even allows them to confuse the minds of unsuspecting victims on battlefield.
